It was comfortable and clean if a little small room.
It would have been useful to have a better description about how to get to the hotel on the webpage.
I found the hotel and rooms very dull and dark and very unwelcoming. The fire precautions were very poor, I don't know if they are the same or eqiuvlent to the uk? We did not find any fire escapes other than the narrow dark staircase leading down to the reception. I do not think Hotel was Value for money. "Could do with updating"
The hotel staff were so helpful in helping us park our cars and were very friendly when we spoke with them in the hotel bar about our trip offrering helpful advice to make our stay more enjoyable
The rooms were not quite as nice as the hotel reception, bar and restaurant would lead you to believe but they were by no means bad just in need of modernising.
One of the worst stay ever. Old crap hotel in the middle of the city. Old furniture, smely carpet, dirty walls, extremely small bathroom, horrible view from the windows (we got the inside view with a smelly fire ladder), dangerous elevator without a door! Basic and good breakfast - selection of juice, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, tea, coffie, jams, jogurt, bakery. The construction site is just besides the hotel. And all of that for 65Eur.The only positive things was - very friendly stuff (respect) and good TV with a selection of vlaanderen programs.
Seem to be a new management.looks like the Hotel was recently renovated, very friendly staff, new & modern bar in lounge colors&style, rooms were very clean.
Seems to be new personnel/management and not yet experienced enough , but instead very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little bit chaotic, but OK, as (again) staff did all possible to satisfy customers.
The staff were excellent very friendly and helpfullx
room was too small and the shwer flooded all the time!
Close to town centre
Very dated and decrepit decor, and run-down feel; extremely expensive for poor quality of accommodation; lack of parking; gloomy lighting in bedroom, old furniture; old bathroom; small room for 4 persons
it was ok for 1 nights stay to noisy..also better if a kettle was in the room
friendly/ cheap/nice bar and breakfast
Very pleasent staff fantastic service thank you
was hot in room could do with air con but the weather was very hot.
Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast selection was adequate.
At the moment of our stay the hotel was under renovation (mainly the bar/concierge area). The room are really old and in poor status. Not clear if the rooms will be renovated (we did not ask).
Friendly , helpful staff, nice bar area, close location to the beach and main shopping street and nightlife ; sky sports bar near by.
Breakfast was very good, friendly staff.
Hurry, someone call Guinness book of world records... This must be the smallest bathroom ever.
Empire is located right in front of the boulevard
Our room was tiny, breakfast was served in a room in the back of the hotel without windows. Very crampy. Worst incident is that we got stuck in the lift. It's a very small and old-fashioned lift. We got stuck for about 15 mins and pushing the alarm button did not help at all. No one heard us. All of a sudden it started working again. We complained to staff and got the reply that it happens more often. Not a satisfying answer.
Really friendly personnel, nice restaurant and homely bar with terrace and free WiFi. The price/quality ratio is uncomparable with other hotels i stayed in Oostende before.
